Use and Performance
Your center of gravity is lower in our kayaks, which results in a nice feeling of stability when paddling. Instead you can focus on the nature surrounding you, or fishing, or even just soaking up the sun. This allows more room for gear on an extended paddle trip. The majority have a tracking fin on the bottom as well as a skid plate for running ashore. The fin helps keep the kayak going straight and the skid plate provides additional durability when beaching the kayak. These boats are great for lakes, bays, marinas, mild rivers but always be familiar with your surroundings, and thoroughly read and understand all instructions and cautions.
How do I remove the kink from my main tube?
Simply deflate your kayak and reposition the tube by pushing the tubes all the way to each end of the tube cover.
What size pump fitting do I need?
The 3/4″ pump fitting is universal to all valves on Advanced Elements kayaks.
Why are my twist valves not holding air?
Make sure not to over-tighten or under-tighten the twist valves. Turn until twist knob is tight and cap is secure. If problem persists, email us or give us a call.
Where is my owner’s manual located?
The owner’s manual is located in clear plastic pouch on the inside of the duffel bag. If you need an extra manual it can be downloaded from our website.
Does my kayak come with a carry case?
Yes, all of our kayaks come complete with a very heavy-duty duffel bag for transporting your kayak to your favorite destination.
What is the best way to pack the boat back into the duffel bag?
The key to repacking the kayak is to get all the air out of it. Do this by reversing your pump and sucking the remaining air out of each chamber. Then follow the folding instructions in the owner’s manual for folding.
What kind of pump should I use?
We recommend a bellows foot pump or double action hand pump.
Why doesn’t my 12V pump fully inflate my kayak?
A 12v pump is a great way to get the kayak started, but for full inflation a bellows foot pump or double-action hand pump is necessary.
Why does air come out when I remove the pump from the main valve?
Your valve is in the deflate position when the plunger is pushed in. Refer to your manual for proper inflation and deflation techniques.
How should I store my boat?
When storing for an extended period of time, we recommend storing your kayak deflated in a cool dry area, out of direct sunlight.
What other accessories do you suggest?
These are a few other accessories that we would suggest if you don’t already have them.
How do you clean the kayak?
Hose it down with freshwater, and let it air dry before packing away for extended periods. Use a sponge to soak up any excess water and grit that may have made its way into the boat. You can also use soft liquid soap or a diluted solution of Simple Green.
